New details emerge about the turbulent relationship between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle
Both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle married into the British Royal Family, and it caused a huge sensation at the time. Middleton came from an upper-middle-class family, with no aristocratic background, and she was called a ‘commoner’.
Markle’s marriage to Prince Harry caused an even bigger wave since she was a person of black descent and a divorcee, who pursued a career in acting.
The trajectory of their lives could not be more different, though. Prince William is in line to become the future King of England, with Middleton by his side as the Queen. Markle and Prince Harry stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family in 2020.
Middleton and Markle’s strenuous relationship played a big part in it. Harry spilled the beans in his memoir, Spare, which came out in 2023. He documented an instance where the Princess of Wales left his wife crying on the floor after allegedly arguing over bridesmaids’ dresses.

Middleton became a princess when she married William in 2011. Markle married Prince Harry in 2018, but the relationship between the women has always been fraught with tension.
Now, given the circumstances, Tom Quinn, the royal expert, opened up to The Mirror and gave an insight into their thought processes.
“Kate definitely doesn’t want an apology, but Meghan definitely does. William just thinks the whole thing is a storm in a teacup and can’t understand why his brother can’t get over the sort of spat that many brothers
have to go through. Meghan and Harry feel hurt by the way they were treated when they were working members of the royal family and William and Kate feel they were treated poorly once Harry and Meghan left and Harry published Spare,” he said.
Prince William and Princess Kate are trying to put their differences behind them and start over. They have even extended an olive branch, and it remains to be seen if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex accept.
