Prince Harry’s Charity Boss QUITS After The Latest Blow Of Duke Accepting Veterans’ Award
The chief of Prince Harry’s charity stepped down just days after the Duke had collected an award in memory of a war hero.
The Duke of Sussex mentioned that he was immensely grateful to his friend Dominic Reid for all his help in building the Invictus Games Foundation.
His resignation comes just days after Harry faced backlash for accepting the Pat Tillman Award.
Invictus Games Foundation Chief Quits, Is Harry To Blame?
Prince Harry founded the Paralympic-style sporting competition in 2014 and thanked Dominic for his ‘dedication and leadership’ in a heartfelt note on Friday. He wrote, “I am immensely grateful to my friend, Dominic, whose dedication and leadership transformed the Invictus Games from an ambitious idea to an internationally recognised movement.”
Furthermore, the father of two also thanked his charity boss for his relentless service. “Thank you, Dominic, for a decade of relentless service to the Invictus Games Foundation. What a journey it has been, and how fortunate we are to work with such an incredible community of people. We pray we don’t need the Games for another 10 years, but thanks to you, the team, and our future CEO, we will be ready,” he added.
Harry, who stepped down as a working member of the royal family in 2020 and moved to the US, returned to the UK briefly to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games Foundation. While announcing his decision to leave, Dominic Reid said it was ‘the time for someone new to take this vital movement forward into its second vigorous decade’.
