Mike Tyson has revealed he delivered a stinging slap to YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul for stepping on his toes -literally. The incident occurred as the rivals prepared for their heated face-off before tonight’s much-awaited clash when Paul, in a bid to intimidate, crawled towards Tyson and sprung up intimidatingly close.

Tyson’s reaction was swift – a sharp slap – before he dodged any counter-attack. The scuffle escalated, requiring security intervention after a week of psychological warfare during which Tyson had played his usual enigmatic self.

Social media buzzed with the notion that Tyson lashed out after having his toes stepped on, which Tyson later confirmed to The New York Post: “I was in my socks and he had on shoes,” Tyson disclosed. “He stepped on my toe because he is a f***ing a**hole. I wanted to think it happened by accident. But now I think it may have happened on purpose. I was in a lot of pain. I had to reciprocate.”

I didn’t even feel it, he’s angry,” he said. “He’s an angry little elf. Mike Tyson, I thought that was a cute slap, buddy, but tomorrow you’re getting knocked the f*** out. I’m f***ing him up, Ariel, I’m f***ing him up. He hits like a b****… It’s personal now, it’s personal now. He must die! ” Paul is tipped to triumph over Tyson tonight, although bookies have reduced the heavyweight legend’s odds this week as he gears up for his first fight in four years.

The last time he fought, it ended in a dull draw with Roy Jones Jr, under similar rules to tonight’s match. Tyson’s most recent professional bout saw him retire on his stool after five rounds against Kevin McBride in 2005, with the man once dubbed the Baddest Man on the Planet conceding his career was finished.

However, he will make a comeback tonight in an eight-round, two-minute per round match against Paul, who has built a career fighting former MMA fighters including Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz. He boasts a record of 10-1, with his only loss being to Tommy Fury last year.

Mike Tyson slapped Jake Paul at the weigh-in ahead of their Netflix boxing showdown due to a mix of tension and provocation. Tyson, known for his volatile past and intense personality, was reportedly angered by Paul’s trash-talking and attempts to rile him up. Leading up to the event, Paul had been making bold statements and challenging Tyson in various ways, including mocking his history in boxing and using his name for publicity. The slap at the weigh-in was seen as a reaction to the escalating tension between the two, with Tyson not tolerating what he perceived as disrespect. Despite the slap, the event continued, with both sides looking to capitalize on the media attention and hype surrounding the fight, which was set to be streamed by Netflix.
