It turns out that Taylor Swift is not actually featured on Beyoncé’s new album.
Fans began speculating that Swift was featured on the Texas Hold ‘Em singers new album Cowboy Carter following it’s release on Friday.
It was thought that the pop superstar had uncredited backing vocals on the album’s eighth track, Bodyguard, and rumours were only fuelled when edited images of the track’s credits began circulating online
However, People has confirmed that Swift does not feature on the album.
At the time of publishing, complete credits for Bodyguard are not yet available on Beyoncé’s website.
Fans were hoping for a duet from the iconic singers seeing as the pair have shown each other public support recently amid their respective stadium tours.
The pop stars each attended the others concert film premiere, Beyoncé showing support at the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour red carpet in October, 2023, and Swift stepping out at at the premiere of Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé in December 2023.
In her December interview with Time, Swift had nothing but kind words to say about Beyoncé, describing her as “the most precious gem of a person.”
“She’s such a great disrupter of music-industry norms,” said the Cruel Summer singer. “She taught every artist how to flip the table and challenge archaic business practices.”
Although Swift’s name doesn’t appear in the album credits, Beyoncé did collaborate with a number of big names for her eight studio album.
In a press release, the singer shared that her foray into country music featured a number of “vocalists, musicians, and orators,” including Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Linda Martell, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Stevie Wonder, Chuck Berry, Robert Randolph, and Jon Batiste among others.
